Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Add sugar, egg, yolks, melted butter, and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt until combined. Knead until you have a soft dough; incorporate blue food coloring.
  3. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 to 1½ hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon; stir in crushed cookies and mini chips.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, roll tightly, and cut into pieces.
  6. Let the rolls rise again for about 30–45 minutes in a greased dish before baking at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For icing, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar; drizzle over warm rolls.
