Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in beef chops (1-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. (Optional) Prepare a brine by mixing 1/4 cup salt, 1/4 cup sugar, and 4 cups water; refrigerate the beef chops in the brine for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Remove the chops from brine (if used), dry them with paper towels, and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder; heat until simmering and reduce by one-third.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear the seasoned beef chops for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Brush the maple glaze over the chops while they cook for an additional 2-3 minutes per side, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Allow the chops to rest for 5 minutes before serving with the remaining glaze.
